Hi Everyone,

Ballyfermot Rocks takes place this Sunday 21st August from 1pm - 8pm. It is taking place on Ballyfermot Road Park beside the Ballyfermot Community Civic Centre. Admin is free.

The concert has been put together by the Ballyfermot RAPID Area Programme and by the local community radio station West Dublin Access Radio. The event is to showcase local talent, community spirit and to create a positive atmosphere in the area.

There will be two stages running, one for bands and one for acoustic acts. Headling the festival will be the BeerMats who are a local Ballyfermot Band who will play the band stage which has been renamed The Marian Butler Stage. She sadly passed away just a few months ago who will never be forgot by loved ones. She spent the last 10 years working in WDAR and we believe that Marian would have wanted us to put on this great concert together. See link for tribute to Marian http://www.wdar.ie/marian.html.

Trevor Halpin of Music Reviewed Unsigned has great bands playing including Hot Licks (Rolling Stones cover band), Fox.E and the Good Hands, The Barley Mob and many more. There will be fun and games for the kids with spot prizes to be won and also a BBQ with a sitting area on location. No alcohol is aloud.

There will be a live broadcast from the WDAR Broadcast Van with interviews and performances from the acts. Listen in on 96FM and on www.wdar.ie.

There is no parking aloud at the Civic Centre car park. Only the artists are allowed park there. If travelling from long distance then please leave the car nearby and walk to the venue. A map is available through the following link http://www.wdar.ie/Contactus.html.

Public transport is available and the following bus services below will leave you outside Ballyfermot Road Park beside the Ballyfermot Community Civic Centre. Keep in mind that buses will be running on a Sunday bus timetable so plan your journey wisely.

The event is set to be a great occasion for family, friends and music fans alike. All the people involved in the concert hope you can join them for a great day of fun and entertainment.
